As an investor, we ask your commitment to:
Communicate with Your Portfolio Manager
- Provide accurate information about your financial status, investment goals and risk tolerance when seeking investment advice, so that your Portfolio Manager can provide you with appropriate recommendations;
- Seek out information you need or want from your Portfolio Manager by proactively asking any questions you have about your account, a specific transaction, risk exposures, potential conflicts of interest, and, of course, fees;
- Notify your Portfolio Manager promptly whenever something in your life changes that may affect your investment objectives, risk tolerance, income, net worth, or liquidity needs;
- Review your portfolio regularly and whenever your financial circumstances change, you may want to make appropriate changes based on your investments' performance and your current objectives.
Inform and Educate Yourself
- Read all literature, prospectuses, and/or other offering documents, before making any investment;
- Consider carefully all investment risks, fees, and/or other factors explained in these documents;
- Make certain you understand the relationship between your investment objectives and the risks and returns on your particular investments;
- Understand that every investment has some degree of risk and that it is possible to lose money – some or all – on any investment.
Keep Your Accounts Current
- Have cash available in your investment account, or transfer funds into that account, to ensure payment for securities purchases by the settlement date. If you pay by check or funds transfer, always make payment directly to the independent third party custodian where your assets are directly held, not to United Capital Management or the Portfolio Manager;
- Review all transaction confirmations and account statements or reports carefully and promptly to ensure that all transactions in your accounts, including deposits and withdrawals, are accurate and were effected according to your instructions. Report any errors or any questions you have to United Capital Management directly at (888) 467-9702.
Use the Right Resources — Carefully
- Recognize the difference between fee-only investment advisory related business and other services available outside of United Capital Management. The responsibilities of United Capital Management relate specifically to investment advisory related services and do not apply to any other products or services you may obtain from your Portfolio Manager. Your Portfolio Manager is an independent contractor who may offer additional products and services outside his/her relationship with United Capital Management. For example, United Capital Management does not provide or supervise tax, accounting, or legal services.
